Reflexology - What is reflexology and it's benefits?
Reflexology derives from the ancient Egyptians and dates back to 2330BC, modern history research dates back 125 years ago by Europeans and Russians.
The concept of 'zone therapy' divides the body into ten equal vertical zones. Energy flows in vertical zones through the body from the feet to the head. It was discovered that any tensions or congestion in the feet are mirrored that of the corresponding body part.
Reflexology is a therapy where the practitioner uses the application of pressure to specific points on the foot. All areas of the foot are linked to various parts of the body.
A reflexologist uses finger and thumb techniques (a system of foot massage) to the foot area which will disclose and release blockages to any problem areas within the body and allow the free flow of energy to circulate the body, allowing the body to become re-balanced.
Reflexology is known to reduce stress and induces deep relaxation; it will also help the body heal itself.
The treatment is particularly useful for stress, sleep disorders, back pain, sports injuries, headaches.
The treatment is carried out only on the feet and sometimes on the hands therefore you will stay fully clothed during the treatment, it is suitable for all ages and gives an overall feeling of relaxation and well being.
